About the Event
We are delighted to celebrate the opening of the HKU Libraries United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Exhibition! The WSRC has been involved in creating this exhibition in partnership with the HKU Libraries team, the HKU Sustainability Office and the Common Core Program at HKU. The Women’s Studies Research Centre and students from the Faculty of Law’s Social Justice Summer Internship researched and mined data on SDGs and their implementation at HKU. This contributed to the development of the HKU Libraries UN SDGs Exhibition, which is both a physical and a digital exhibition that highlights the importance of the SDGs through workshops, events, and curation of reading lists. The Exhibition outlines global challenges and local progress or gaps pertaining to each SDG, as well as how HKU addresses them. The Exhibit makes recommendations on how you, too, can contribute to doing your part in addressing these challenges. Find out more here: https://www.hkulsdg.hku.hk/
The Member States of the United Nations adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by General Assembly resolution A/RES/70/1 of 25 September 2015. The aim of this resolution is to achieve these 17 goals by 2030 with a view towards ending all forms of poverty, fighting inequalities and tackling climate change while ensuring that no one is left behind.
